Math Facts are essential for problem-solving success. Too often, math facts are memorized but not understood; understood but not automatic; automatic but not accurate. In response to state standard expectations, district and state assessments, and our knowledge that these facts are essential, we often resort to teaching the way we were instructed in math--by teaching our students to memorize facts under pressure using anxiety-inducing timed tests.
Time’s Up on Timed Tests brings you methods for teaching addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts that will lead your students to real fact fluency: fluency that doesn’t rely solely on memorization. Your students will use strategies to develop understanding, and improve their accuracy and efficiency through purposeful practice that is fun.
