BAISD Fall Conference 2019

Learn about the common IEP and 504 mistakes that lead to due process hearings and complaints. This informative session will include plenty of practical advice to help you avoid the pitfalls that can trip up even the most experienced educator and ancillary service provider.

Learn and practice proven meeting participation techniques to maximize the team's productivity and manage the complex IEP requirements.

Participants will be taught how to follow a hierarchical approach taking students’ expression from words to paragraphs to reports and more. This multisensory approach increases vocabulary and supports written and oral expression. Participants will connect this approach to the GELN Literacy Essentials, experience hands-on activities, review samples from students, and learn strategies/ideas for students in any classroom setting.

This course is a CPR/First Aid refresher course for those participants who have current CPR certification and need to renew.  Certification is good for 2 years.

Two half-day trainings will be repeated on how to launch and sustain the Daily 5 Framework covering foundational structure, classroom preparation, implementing choice, and differentiation for students ages and needs. Learn techniques to reduce challenging behaviors and increase engagement.
