John McPherson is a guidance counselor at Standish-Sterling Central Jr/Sr High School, he has served in that role since 2004. Before that he was a high school science teacher at Vestaburg Community Schools for seven years. He coached both boys and girls basketball at various levels during that time as both a head coach and assistant.
John is from Elk Rapids, Michigan, earned his MA in Counseling from Central Michigan University. Additionally he holds BS degrees from Michigan State University in Fisheries & Wildlife and Agriscience Education. He enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and spending time with his family.
